Sun Shines on OSET at British Championship

It was in glorious sunshine that OSET ace George Hemingway took his first national win. He was pushed all the way in another solid podium performance by Lewis Hurdsman.

In a nail biting contest for third place, two riders shared the same score, with OSET?s Myles Hutchinson getting the podium on the day but missing out on countback.

Organisers, Yeadon Guiseley, set out a technically and physically challenging 12 section, 3 lap course.   For many of the young riders, it was their hardest trial to date.  Part of the entry was able to take it as a real achievement to finish, while the riders at the sharp end had ample opportunity to regain a simple mistake, reducing the pressure of slack dabs.

Dominic Horne, riding the prototype OSET 24.0 pushed hard for the win on the D-Class medium wheels, to narrow the gap again between Ashton Brightmore in first and himself a clear second.  With equal scores on the first lap, it was real nail biter as the results came in.  While Dom had the best final lap it was Ashton?s stonking middle lap that saw the Derbyshire youngster top the podium.

Simon Armstrong from OSET Bikes said: ?We were blown away by the effort of all the riders.  The kids should all be really proud of themselves.  It was without doubt a tough trial, but I wouldn?t be surprised if it helps many riders take a step forward in their ability.  It was also an inspired decision to split the big kids and younger riders across two different parts of the venue, which saw a fantastically managed event.?

2014 OSET D-Class winners, Harry Turner and Harry Hemingway, demonstrated that the last round was no fluke. The two youngsters have found the step up to C-Class Medium Wheels to their liking as they enjoyed first and second on the podium this weekend. The transition from electric to fossil fuel has been no barrier for these two!  The technical skills developed on the lighter electric bike, is certainly paying dividends!

OSET?s own Oliver Smith had another solid top 10 performance in the B-Class ? the largest group of the day.

A large OSET travelling contingent from the Isle of Man, was welcomed at the event as they and everyone else gears up for Richmond?s MCC round at Cogden Hall, nr Reeth over August bank holiday.
